Guest bathroom interiors design and remodel

I love designing and decorating small powder rooms, simply because it is almost so unexpected to walk into the WC and actually find yourself staring at the walls, the furniture, lighting and various accessories. And why neglect the powder room when the rest of the house has been finished beautifully with custom furniture and custom draperies! In this case I selected wallpaper with a geometric, raised pattern with a black background – in my opinion black can be such an amazing color and scream ” I am here and I am not going anywhere!”

The vanity came the way it is shown with a white porcelain sink and black stone countertop, as well as a distressed wood finish. I complimented that with a mirror that matches the finish and the shape plays off the geometric wallpaper pattern as well as the tiny vanity countertop lamp. The wall sconces are from Visual Comfort Lighting and their simple and clean lines work perfectly with the rest of the room.

Fox Den, Knoxville dining room custom draperies and fabric wallpaper

This dining room design and custom draperies were part of an entire home remodel in Fox Den Subdivision here in Knoxville. The fun part was to go shopping for fabrics with my client in Atlanta in order to find the perfect fabric. This was not the easiest thing to do since we wanted to hit the right shade of red and a white background that didn’t turn cream or yellow on us. Also I wanted to find matching  fabric wallpaper which needed to be installed by a professional we trust since it was not the cheapest wallpaper option – but the prettiest :)

The custom window  treatments are non functional, however they are on a beautiful black  wrought iron rod which matches the rest of our drapery hardware in the entire house.  The only thing original to this room was my clients dining room furniture as well as her custom rug everything else was added as far as the chandelier from curry and company the wainscoting and our new fabric color scheme.

Contractor Brian Shugart and his crew with Landmark  Real Estate Co. did a phenomenal job on this remodel and more pictures will be posted soon on my blog as well as on my website.

Kitchen remodel and kitchen design

Here are some before and “during” construction pictures of a  fabulous kitchen remodel. This was a total gut and re-design kitchen and laundry room project,  including new kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, tile flooring as well as new tile backsplash, new lighting from visual comfort lighting, new furniture from Lorts and various accessories. Pre-remodel this kitchen had a walk-in pantry with a window and lots of open shelving storage. Now the newly designed kitchen has a much more open floor plan as well as all custom built in cabinets with pull out shelves and soft close doors. The flooring was changed from hardwood flooring to tile flooring which was laid on a diagonal in order to give it some more dynamics. A matching Visual Comfort chandelier was placed above the Lorts dining table. We will post more pictures soon of the finished kitchen remodel with finished custom window treatments and a seat cushion with custom embroidered pillows.
